Volunteer and Community Service
Susan has been involved in community service since her high school years. Early after her move to Portland in 1973, she was instrumental in forming the Rape Relief Hotline in Portland. She has been a card carrying member of the American Civil Liberties Union for many years and worked on the lawyers' committee of that organization from 1975 until the late 1980's.
Susan is currently a supporter of the Portland Zoo, Raphael House of Portland, the Multnomah County Library, the Oregon Coast Aquarium and the Lincoln County Historical Society. She is a member of Atonement Lutheran Church in Newport, Oregon and there serves on the church council as well as the church's Health Ministry and Mutual Ministry teams.
